A classic British TV design - the rescue command & control aircraft Thunderbird 1 from the 1960's show by Gerry Anderson. Built in Sketchup, mapped & rendered in 3DS Max.
Awesome job on this, and the other ones, these don't happen to be the ones that are on the Sketchup Warehouse are they? I've got those on my pc, and they are magnificent! Keep up the great work!
Yes this is one of my models (along with TB2 & 3) that I have also posted on 3D Warehouse - rendered in 3DS Max with a simple environment map for reflection, a sky light and a direct light to give shadows.
It looks awesome, I wondered how it was textured but if you did that in 3DS Max it explains a lot Could I do some renders with your Thunderbirds models in the future, if the right credit is given of course?
Certainly - have fun rendering. It would be cool to see them with nice particle effects (engine jets/rockets, etc.) or in more realistic environments. I've tried matching them into photo backgrounds but I don't have many good images to use for this yet. Animated fly-pasts would look good too - if you had the right sound effects.
